Poor Jeremy--in a way. Although "pride goes before a fall," and Hubris almost always results in disaster of one sort or another. I really admired how you wove in various possiblities consecutively: he's fine--no problem, he's arrogant--of course he'll make it, he's worried, he's feverish and probably very ill, he'll be rescued, he won't be rescued or at least not in time... Then the Denouement, which to us readers seems like, "Hey, this is a good thing!" to Jeremy, Mr. Competitive, it's "LOST AGAIN!" (He ought to stop and think: just because both Frank and Sandra visited, it doesn't necessarily mean "Frank got the girl," maybe she was there because she likes Jeremy (although this reader doesn't see how) and was concerned for his well-being.
