This is a nice informational piece about famous abandoned buildings, and I really enjoyed it. I've also seen some of these pictures on MSN and YouTube, and it is indeed sad to see these once beautiful structures in such awful condition, especially some the ones that aren't even that old yet.
I also like how you use your imagination to put 'ghost' people into these pictures and places. I think that keeps the memories of not only the structures alive, but the people themselves and the time frame as well.
Which is why I love going to really old cemeteries! Call me weird, but I can sometimes feel the presence of the people who are buried there, whether I knew them or not!
But back to your piece. I also liked that line about if people cleaned these spaces up then the people might return. I don't know if you're talking about living folks or dead ones, but it's still an intriguing thought however you meant it! *Smirk*
