Depression [E] how to help yourself |
Hi, Skylar Ray. Unfortunately, depression runs in my family a lot. My oldest daughter (33) was diagnosed with personality disorder/bipolar syndrome, and both of these deal with depression. Actually, they're not even sure which one she has, but they're leaning toward the former. I don't know whether depression could be called a sickness or not; I think that would depend on the mental status of the patient. But whatever it you want to call it, it's definitely an affliction. And I agree that there are things people can do to help it, but I wouldn't rule out therapy, although you're right that it won't necessarily work for everybody. And sadly, yes, there are some folks who are just looking for attention. Which is sad in itself, because it makes it worse for those who really are depressed. For such a short piece, you said a lot here, Skylar. And for being only 16, you're wise for your age! Well done, my friend. By the way, I'm a nature nut myself! I've spent a lot time up in the woods and enjoying the peace and beauty of it! Kee ponw ritin gon, and welcome to WdC! If you like to write, then you're going to love it here! PS-You might want to get your biography set up so we can know a little something more about you (hobbies, favorite authors/books, location, etc.), but that's up to you, of course. PPS-Since you’re new here, perhaps you’d like to check out "Noticing Newbies" to get a feel of Writing.Com and introduce yourself to the community!
PPPS-If you want more exposure for your items you can put them on the Please Review Page or The Plug Page under Community on the left hand side. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
