This is a nice poem. The person beneath is often hidden and only when we come to know people better we realize them. The surface is often a superficial kind. The beauty on the surface often hides the person beneath. The red lipstick and the black hair dye hides mostly whats underneath. There is pain and sorrow beneath. There is a feeling of loss and of being lost. The poetry reminds us how we feel about ourselves and others. How we react is how the world perceives us. We are knit closely with the outside world. But the real truth is something else.
