OVERALL IMPRESSION -
This was a great short story. You totally had me hooked right from the beginning to the last word.

WHAT I LIKED BEST -
How obsessed Shere was with that diamond stud, and I so don't blame her there. Those little gems can be so eye catching and draw you in.

PLOT~
Shere watches a man drinking his coffee, reading the paper and notices the big diamond stud that graces his ear. She cannot seem to look away from it, mesmerized by the glinting light and decides to try and steal it. She argues with herself that it's a bad idea, but she chooses to make her move when the man gets up and heads to the tram stop.

CHARACTER(S)~DESCRIPTION~
Shere, a bird who attacks a man for the diamond earring.

Great descriptions here describing the earring, her flight and attack of the man before she gives up and checks to see if she has any wounds. The draw of the bling was just too much for Shere. I could picture the bird up on the wire, head down pouting at the unsuccessful attempt to win the prize.

DIALOG~
The inner dialog worked as Shere battled her conscious before going after what she wanted anyway. It was almost like she had to prove herself right in flying down to capture the stone.

This would be my name.
