Happy Earth Day celticsea!
What a treasure to poopoo plastic in a limerick! Great idea! The comical title is appealing and suits the limerick form and the contrast in considering a serious matter is brilliant.
This is too funny and so entertaining to read. Your Michael indeed is wise to alternatives to plastic and your message comes across in a potent and humourous way. Bottles, bags and floss are great examples to use to make the point. The floss was really ingenious and folks may not think about it.
Reading the limerick chain aloud was a pleasure and I had some good laughs. I did notice some inconsistency in the form, namely line syllables. You start out with 9 9 6 6 9 and in a few cases, the 9 counts are off a bit. You have one 10, a couple of 8;s, the shorter lines are spot on. It did not detract from the read and message, just a matter of technique. Poetic license is often used in these. I am not sure how you'd fix them anyway as your lines make sense and flow well.
Your tone was straight talk and the vocabulary well chosen. The play of "S'well" was awesome (thanks for the footnote}, and I liked the unique word "swig". The rhyme is perfect and the soundscape was appealing as I read it aloud. Your punctuation was purposefull and it was easy to tell who was speaking in the dialogue parts. His speech added dramatic effect too!
I had a great time reading your word weaving and humour. It is not easy to do and I appreciate your effort on behalf of Mother Earth! I am impressed for sure. You made my day!
