Hi paddy1

I am reviewing this poem as part of "I Write in December-January-FebruaryOpen in new Window.

*Starv* Firstly, I love your title. There is something peaceful and calm about it. I like the alliteration. It helps create the impression of gentle, soothing water.

*Starv* You make clever use of enjambment, which means the poem flows really smoothly, and this helps create the feeling of water constantly moving. It's very fluid, and kind of washes over the reader. I really like that.

*Starv* I love the subject matter here. You compare nature to the arts; both of them being things that enrich our lives. In the first verse, you mention "the theatre of moon / and stars," and I love this description! I love that analogy. The moon and stars putting on a show every night for us to see.

You go on to discuss music, painting, dance, and writing. It's absolutely beautiful. You end by saying each day, "writes yet another verse to the poem / in my notebook, the epic, winding / saga of my life." This is a lovely metaphor. It's a perfect description of life.

*Starv* My favourite lines are: " . . . I like to watch / the sun paint its morning palette / over exhausted night." This is just beautiful. The "exhausted night" is a wonderful description.

This is a clever poem, with some creative and unique descriptions. I love the comparison between nature and the arts. I love the way you see the world. You paint such a vivid picture. It makes the reader feel relaxed and warm. Brilliant!
