Prompt:"Greet the dawn with a breath of fire." Harold and Maude (1971).

First impression:A beautiful recounting of an everyday occurrence of an early riser. With the busy world we live in today, I can say that most people don't take in the beauty that surrounds us everyday. Your poem is painted with the gorgeous colors of the dawn, reminding your readers of all that goes on before some are even awake.

Favorite stanza:

Greet the dawn with a breath of fire
to match the sun as it climbs higher

in that stretch of blue above your head.
Shiver in your thin t-shirt, and sink

Why: This is my favorite because of the beautiful picture it paints and the possibilities it eludes to.

Does this poem reference the prompt?:Yes

Suggestions:None

Final thoughts: A nice flowing poem that reminds me of morning moments that are most often missed.

This concludes my review. Thank you for allowing me the pleasure of reading and reviewing your work and for participating in my contest. I wish you continued success with your writing and in life. Good luck in the contest! Write on, read on, rate on!~ Taryn
