Greetings, Sand Castles Shopgirl 739 ! Thank you for submitting your entry in the "Writing 4 Kids Contest " . Prompt: Write a scary or slightly scary mystery story or poem for children who are anywhere from a toddler to a pre-teen. It does not have to be about Halloween, though it can be, if you choose. You may also opt to submit a short chapter if you prefer. No more than 500 words for stories/chapters and no more than 20 lines for poetry. This is adorable. The ghost ends up saving the sailors by lighting the abandoned lighthouse on a stormy night. A joy to read, and I'm certain children would love it, too, especially illustrated. The flow felt great! There was a place or two that seemed a mouthful, but hardly worth mentioning. I like how you included a lighthouse on your cover, too. Very nice rhyming! It did not seem forced at all. Nice work! I especially liked: He had to help somehow; he just had to try The ships would all crash with no light in the sky My only other thought is perhaps add punctuation at the end of sentences, mainly because it's children's poetry. This is optional, I know, but something to think about. Best of luck in the contest! Have a great day and... K e e p on W r i t i n g ! Cubby ")
