Hello SB Musing Author IconMail Icon

I have pulled myself out of the swamp and dragged my bag of bones over to the Writing.com site in order to do some frightening reviews. I hope my freakish opinions do not scar or torment you... they are only meant to help in a fiendishly foul way. You must remember to be strong and not run scared from this... it is only a review... one you are welcome to torch and discard as you see fit.
I have chosen to review your poem - "Invalid ItemOpen in new Window.... beware what you are about to have revealed to you....
I am reviewing your piece today as part of the "Invalid ItemOpen in new Window. reviewing challenge.

*Bats*Overall Impression:*Bats*
I just have to say the image of the moon is freakishly cool and ghostly... a hunters moon of epic proportions. I can almost here the wolves howling sending chills down my spine.
I enjoyed the imagery and the connections to time as it seems to echo within your chambers.

*Cat2*Your Form and Techniques:*Cat*
I believe the form you have chosen is Free Verse. It is a form I relish as it allows the poet to follow the curve and coil of the words and images... which this season so dangerously, yet delightfully conjures.
You employ the technique of enjambment that allows the poem to flow; gliding over the frosty night sky like the moon itself.

*Pumpkin*Favourite Lines:*Pumpkin*
"Time's demise
the clock strikes
midnight hailing
All Hallow's Eve"

There is something eerily held within that image and I like Halloween dressed up as All Hallow's Eve' like a formal party of sorts.

*Rant*Suggestions:*Radioactive*
I see no grammar or spelling issues of concern. Your use of punctuation is also well done.

*Candy3*Additional Globs I want to Drop:*Shock2*
Your poem challenges me and I find myself reading it over and over to get a sense of it. I find I need to do the extra readings to get more of an impact as the words are only surface. The images need to sink in, slowly, dissolving into my psyche. Thank you and Happy Halloween to you my friend. Be careful out there.

Thank you so much for sharing your wickedly fine piece. I do hope you keep writing... and scaring some more. Happy Halloween!
