Plot/story elements:

Did I feel attached to the story or poem?

I think it's natural for children to want to experiment with the spirit world. They're always told to stay away from things like Ouiji boards and seances that they almost become an irresistible experiment. I'm definitely not advocating for their use but I can see the draw to writing a story around using one.

Would I recommend this piece of writing to someone else?

It was scary and the ending serves as a good reminder for people who believe in such stories to think twice before engaging in such activity. Scary stories based around these types of experiments are popular, especially for older children who get curious. Aunt Naomy sounded very scary and I bet a lot of people have someone like that in their families. It was a relatable experience.

Was there a clear purpose to it?

It was a scary ghost story speaking to experiences many readers have tried or will probably attempt to try.

*StarStruck* Glows:

It was short story. Again, there was no wasted storytelling. Every piece of writing served a purpose in furthering the story. I loved that Selena ended up taking care of Pam in then proving she wasn't a total brat. She had some redeeming qualities.
