What I read ~
A little white lie saves Wayne from a fate that will haunt him, and lingering questions. Wayne stays home from work, can't find anything to watch on television and falls asleep. When we wakes up, the images on the television show the terrible day that the planes hit the towers in New York. He frantically tires to let his wife know he's all right, knowing she would think he was in the towers that day.

What stood out ~
Everything stood out and took me back to that day. I don't live near there, but you didn't have to be in New York to feel the change from that day. True stay. Is this about you? If it is, then I'm glad you something in your gut got you to call in sick. It does happen that way. One little decision can change the course of a lifetime. There is no rhyme or reason to it.

Personal Impressions ~
I could really identify with Wayne, the shock, then being frantic to let his family know he was alive and all right, to the overwhelming guilt of being spared. We really never know when it's our time to cross over. I agree with the father, that when things happen like this there is a profound reason. It's a matter of figuring out just what that could be, but that isn't an easy task for most of us. I was completely caught up in Wayne's emotions. Good job pulling me into the story as it unfolded and I went the through motions with Wayne. Write on!

This would be my name.
