Rugged [E] A limerick based on the varying ways we pronounce certain English words |
Hi Ben Langhinrichs , This review is a part of "Game of Thrones" [13+]. Overall Impression: Ha! This is clever! I like it. Like you, I had never thought of "tugged" being two syllables. I definitely pronounce it as only one syllable. Googling it, one syllable seems to be the general consensus, but for the purposes of your experiment, it's really fun and interesting to read it both ways. And to turn "rugged" into one syllable as well. Gives a different meaning to the piece. It's a fun read. I can't help but picture the guy - both ways, with the one-syllable version being the most amusing. Thank you for making me smile. On the technical side of things, your poem reads well. Again, both ways. I had no problem catching on to the rhythm and flow either way. And I like the presentation and, of course, your explanation, which makes this two-in-one poem work the way that you intended. Suggestions: I have no suggestions, dear author. I couldn't find any errors, nor anything to improve upon. The poem just works! My Rating: This was a lot of fun. Cleverly done. I am happy I got to read it. I had no suggestions, so I am giving this item a well-deserved rating of 5 out of 5. Thank you for sharing your work, and write on!
