What I read ~
Cute story, and I'm assuming it's a true account here. You are so right about being on God's plan, His timing and not our own. If you can learn this lesson early, I find you are one of the lucky ones because you don't push things into action that shouldn't be. I'm one of the latter. I know the lesson, yet temptation is just way to much for me most of the time. The story had elements of humor, as well as a seriousness about it.

What stood out ~
So she opened them. All of them. ~ I was laughing so hard reading this line. You have to love a curious mind, the child who is willing to explore their surroundings. And the inner child in all of us as well.

Things to work on ~
I know that 'all of them' being a sentence of its own has good impact, but I kept thinking of maybe putting it in all caps, or even bold or italics just to really put the full emphasis on those three little, but powerful words. Just an idea.

Personal Impressions ~
Don't forget there is also a time for humor. Lord knows we could all use more of it in this world. In the end it all worked out. I'm glad you got your tulips, though you had to wait it out an entire year for that to happen. I can just imagine your anticipation of them blooming come that spring. What is that saying? Oh yes, patience is a virtue. That saying will never resonate with me! Nice short story. Write on!

This would be my name.
