What worked ~
The poem about a white rose is filled with great imagery. At first glance the poem is short and I wondered if there would be enough to invoke any emotions from me, but after just the first stanza, I could see clearly in my mind what you were trying to convey. It's as if every word choice was carefully selected for this one piece of push and pull, bringing the reader into the story of romantic notions, and then immediately pushing them backward a few steps, only to draw us right back into the highs of love.
Impressions ~
This was my favorite part: Rainy indiscretion Dancing slow burlesque. It very well might be my love of dance that catches my attention the most, but these few lines had so much emotional depths for me and drew me into the poem even more. Your entire writing style, and word choices truly grabs the readers attention right from the beginning and holds us until the very last word, and even then the mind swirls, vibrating from what we've just read. The romance mingles with sadness, every up has a down. It's a beautiful poem. Looking forward to delving into your port a little more and see what other romantic pieces speak to me.
