Welcome to WDC! I hope you enjoy your time here! I'm working on a challenge right now that requires a review of a piece related to Star Wars. That's how I stumbled across your essay. Though really, this is not written as an essay. It is lacking structure to some degree and is also very conversational in tone for an essay... even just a casual essay. You might get better reviews if you list it as Nonfiction. Anyway, I have never heard anyone say that people who watch Star Trek are stupid. I haven't heard anyone say that the show itself is stupid unless "stupid" was more akin to "boring" in meaning. Science fiction tends to be clever... just in general. The title here might get people to click on the item too, by the way... but this is not actually about Star Wars at all. That's about all I have to say. I watch Star Trek and ST: TNG... and I have the box set of all the movies. And I love the original Star Wars trilogy as well. But then, I also love Starlost and lots of lesser-known and underrated shows. And I read scifi novels and stories all the time. I don't consider myself a Trekker. I consider myself a scifi fan. People might as well just assume that the title includes Star Trek. And as far as snobbery of any sort toward Star Trek people goes... I'm only snobbish against those who never read books. A show (even an amazing show) is no excuse to not READ. If they can find that much to talk about with a show... how much would they have to talk about if they invested those hours and hours into reading a long scifi novel series over and over, hmmm? Thanks for sharing your opinions on the topic. 5 stars for the sharing... 3 stars for the actual writing. But hey... the writing isn't the point here, right? Review brought to you by "Newbie Welcome Wagon" My review has been submitted for consideration in "Good Deeds Get CASH!" .
