peppermint tea [E] the smell of peppermint brings back an old memory |
A Review from "Simply Positive Review Forum " ! What brought Hoovsie meandering in a space time continuum over to your port? I am the judge for today in "The Writer's Cramp" . Thanks for entering! What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item? Your story involves a woman who has been injured and is being carried to somewhere beyond her control. Her perceptions are a bit fuzzy because of the nature of her injuries and partly from shock. When we lose control of our surroundings it is sometimes comforting to retreat to the past. She is transported by in time by the smell of peppermint, something her mother used to use as a drink to soothe her daughter. What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item? I like how the two caregivers - mother and Daniel - are jumbled up in Katarina's mind. It seems very natural to want to go back in time to the safer place where mother could make everything better. The trigger of the peppermint smell from eating the leaf brings back a vivid memory of a safer, happier time, drinking mother's tea. Not having the soothing voice of mother is something that makes us all panic at one time or another. You brought it back in a fine story about connections from the past that heal and soothe us.
