You have included your own personal perspectives and some humour in your essay/article and I like that. I was taught in school that essays and the such had to be devoid of emotion and that personal opinion has no place in them.

You include bits of both sides of the argument in this essay, and that's the key ingredient.

Suggestions:

I'd like to see this essay/article expanded on. You have a great idea for what could be a much longer piece. You could carry out some research on the numbers of Snail Mail letters sent over the years vs the number of emails. You could also look into other possible reasons for the reduction of Snail Mail - cost of postage, cost of paper, you also alluded to children learning to write in cursive.
