There are so many things that I liked about this, but the thing I enjoyed the most has got to be your descriptions. These lines: "A smile that brightens the moon," "I watch as your words come to life" and: "A professor of life" They made me come to a complete stop, double back, and reread them just to admire the many meanings within. They're compact little phrases, filled with so much emotion; they're lines that tell a story so real and heartwarming that your reader can't help but connect with them. Reading this, I couldn't help but ponder the character that you're describing. You've managed to do a great job of crafting a well-rounded persona. And the fact that you showed his weakness too, is what made him all the more real and relatable. What I enjoyed most though, is the instances where you showed this person's impact on the narrator, especially in the last lines. It just feels like a balanced and well-matched relationship. And finally, the shorter sentences and quick flow of this piece made for an even more delightful read. I'm not very knowledgable about the technicalities of poetry, but what I can tell you is that I quite enjoyed this, both the way it's written and the story behind it.
