What an incredibly powerful and heartbreaking, yet inspiring poem. You really drew me in and held me.
I did get a bit confused in verse four. The 'one kill', did it mean she killed one of the guards? I don't think they'd get so upset if she fought off another Jewish person, so that was the conclusion I came to.
Then toward the end I got confused again as she 'took in the expressionless man'. People would have been watching...so I was confused.
In the last verse, you switch from past tense to future? "They will find"
Sounds like she grabbed a Nazi, dragged him in too, killed him and wrote a message in his blood. Is that what she did? How?
Like I said, very powerful and moving.
