This story has one of those unbelievable meetings between the would-be lovers. Yet, given the setting and circumstances under which it took place, perhaps such fateful incidents do happen.
Green eyes- A great title. It speaks of not only the glowing beauty of Karen but also of the way one can make life beautiful while it lasts.
It is a strange thing that both have AIDS and this hasn't stopped them to fall physically for each other. May be not so strange after all.

The end appears a bit rushed. The leisurely pace of the first half is missing in the final section of the story, which is mostly narration. The birth of Karlene, for example was an unexpected surprise.

Language and style have appeal. You could describe the power and quality of love in a sensitive and touching way.

A nice story.
