"A micro review isn't a lazy review;
it's a condensed version of a person's thoughts ...
intended as means to celebrate a poet's work."

What a delightful swannet! Your adherence to the form is wonderful and your use of personification begins in the second line with the oak tree as a pirate, and its leaves, the pirate's gold; what great imagination. The meter ranges from pentameter to Hendecasyllabic, which maintains a lyrical quality to this piece. The sibilance of line six, summer sun shines is pleasing to the ear. While the consonance of line eleven, The prince is the pine tree is a joy; especially as your personifications are also metaphorical. My favorite line: "The grass blades are swaying to unknown sound." Marci, there is something magical about this line that conjures for me a clear picture of the way longer grass dances in the breeze, evoking childhood memories of summer. The mood and feeling created is a sense of wonder and a celebration of the imagination. This depiction of one child's view on their backyard, is rich and portrays endless vistas of play time untold. Thank you for this enjoyable variation on a sonnet.
