I was not sure, when I stated reading this story, whether it was an account of things which had really hapenned or a fictional story. On coming to the end - I am inclined to think the former

I have to say - I prefer the latter half of the story to the former -

"I looked down the tree where I had come, refusing to let my insisting eyes lock on the water, and saw how far I had climbed. There’s no going back. It would be impossible to climb down from here."

I really felt the suspense and was intrigued as to what was going to happen!!

I loved the ending - GIRL POWER, definately x
