Yeah, but to me those are all the wrong reason to write. Or at lest they shouldn't e the primary one. To me, you first need to want to write for yourself, not others. Write what you feel, think, believe, remember. If you do this, you'll find readers, and those who will think like you.

Still, I know hat you mean, no one lives in a vacuum and it's natural to want to please as many readers as possible. Why settle for 5, when you can have 50 who read your work. Still, that isn't what you are getting at, not really. I think what you are saying is: You want to feel what they feel, see what they see, to experience the entire gamut of emotions and meaning. You want to find the invisible tie that connects us all, that makes us all connected.

Then again, reading this again, your words sound more utilitarian, maybe you just want to beloved and adored by readers. To me that sounds a little shallow, a little self-serving. But maybe that is how all writers are, I mean, if we don't want others to want us, we'll go on writing in a dark closet with just a candle. So I am conflicted on this poem's intend. Though I still suggest writing for yourself first. I think you'll respect that a lot more, and so will those readers who you want to want you.

I guess. I still write in that closet so I'm hardly one to give advice. Your poem got the gears in my head turning, a rare feat, the last time was 1988,they're more than a bit rusty! *Pthb*
