Good morning, Dan, With much thanks for the story just read by this contest judge/ contest hostess. Coming to mind now is the isolation behind prison walls. Impossible to fathom, detailed to a tee, in "Invalid Item" to even trite day to day, hourly reference surrounding life on death row. Setting highly achieved i this one. Grishom worthy. Reminds one of THE CHAMBER.When Lester is interviewed by a surprise visitor one never expects the outcome leading to this title. Also ... good ploy re: plot as this experienced author, PlannerDan contrives to rein in the meaning of Christmas via forgiveness. Then too, snowfall brought to light in the story adds much to the empty acres outside Lester's cell.Cordially, TEFF PS: Since this story interested me, also put a  hold on your bio & portfolio.
