Ooh. Shudder, shiver. Terrifying. my nightmares ar ebad enough but this? Great job. How positively eerie and terrifying. Takes fear of the dark to a new level. Contrary to popular belief, the shadows really are alive! I loved this. Adn the ending is reminiscent of a good STephen King short--no one gets out alive. I only noticed one thing. You might want to change the first paragraph to past tense, like the rest of the story. It will read more smoothly that way. I made that mistake once and my editor wanted to shoot me. But it's a great story.
