Ms. Prittey pulled the closed door shut tightly behind her and flicked on the light switch. She gripped Phil tightly just a few inches from her face.
"Now young man," she began, "You may explain yourself."
Phil frantically tried to explain to his teacher that it was not his fault....but that Kendra was toying with his head with her feet.
Ms. Prittey thought for a few moments...
"But why would she do that? I've known Kendra longer than I've been her teacher, and she's not commonly a mischivious girl. Why would she start now?" she questions.
Phil answers with a shrug. "I don't know, but you might be suprised with how much I've had to put up with. I guess it gives people a feeling of power or something."
Phil felt Ms. Prittey's grip tighten slightly around him as he spoke those words. She absent mindly started rubbing his chest with her thumb as she thought and gazed off deep into the closet.
She abruptly shook herself out of whatever she was thinking about and once again looked to Phil.

Phil didn't really understand. In his years of homeschooling, his parents never explained the concept to him. So he asked "What happens in detention?"
Ms. Prittey smirked at her student, "Oh....I forgot you were homeschooled. Basically you stay after class for two hours and work under supervision. Usually you work on homework, but I have also been known to assign....special projects for some special students."
As she carried Phil out of the closet, he know detention was not something he should be looking forward to.
Ms. Prittey picked up Phil's desk from the floor in front of Kendra and put it and Phil down on her desk. "So that I'm sure you don't cause more trouble," she explained. She then sat down on the desk a couple feet to Phil's right and continued her lecture.
"Now then....we have a lot to cover today. Where was I? Ah yes....the Nina, the Pinta, and...."
