David let the necklace chain drape through the fingers of his left hand as he carried the item downstairs to give to Rico.
He finds Rico looking rather contemplative and distant. His mind more on his latest drama with Keith, David wants to complete the exchange quickly.
Apparently, however, his arrival truly did catch Rico by surprise.
Clearing his throat, David watched the slightly built Hispanic man nearly jump out of skin.
"David!" Rico exclaimed in obvious surprise.
Knowing that Rico must have something on his mind, David decides quickly he doesn't have the time or energy to inquire. He holds out the necklace and explains the requested arrangement as quickly as possible.
Rico reaches for the item. The hands of the two men link briefly and both feel a definite jolt of energy.
"What the hell?" Rico asks.
"Must have been a static charge. Have a good evening."
David retreats quickly.
Rico turns the necklace over in his hands. His fingers continue to tingle from the energy exchange.
