Hearing the sounds of plastic wrap and that chuckling voice, you twist the doorknob. Finding it's stuck! You rattle the doorknob and finally it twists open. Flinging open the guest bedroom, you shout. "Hey!" and rush to the window where you kept your open suitcase. Atop the open suitcase on top of your clothes is a note.
Picking up the note, you read it. Hand written in fancy, curly loops like one of those letters seen on PBS, the message reads:
Johnny Dear! I'm glad you're back this Summer. Barney and Dora are certainly happy
you're back!
Snorting to yourself, you mutter, "Yeah right. Like a case of the mumps." Then read on.
Last Summer, do you remember that refrigerator we tossed out? I think you may have
found a few things in it like a jar and a tiny box with cake in it. Be a good dear and tell
me if you did. They belong to a colleague of mine at the University...
How did your Aunt know? Did she put the note here? Glancing down, you notice the cake has been moved from it's hiding place in your luggage and lies atop your clothes, along with the Jar of peanut butter! You glance down at the note.
By the way, you're not the only guest here. He's staying with us while my colleague is out
of town. Say hi to Max.
