He ran back to the hole and was relieved that it was still there and glowing. This means it's still active, he thought. Tom quickly stepped in, hoping that the place he will end up will be his real home.
Tom found himself in bed and for a moment was a little disoriented. Was this all a dream? he wondered as he looked around his room. Everything looked fine and Tom's relief grew as he saw more familiar signs in his room. "I'll definitely not go into strange holes again". he whispered to himself. Stretching as though he just woke up, Tom got out of bed and walked to the bathroom. So far so good, the bathroom was where it has always been.
Tom turned on the tap and reached for the soap, where it has always been. Lathering his hands, and with the tap still running Tom began to wash his face, ...and froze. His soapy hands felt the unfamiliar beard on his chin! "What the hell?!", he yelped as his eyes focused on the image in the mirror. The face looking back at Tom was that of a grown man with a full beard, and aged around thirty.
"Holy crap!, I've changed!", Tom exclaimed, his stomach feeling suddenly uneasy. Before he could think of how he could have reached this state, he was startled by a voice outside the bathroom door.
"Are you in here?"
Tom did not recognize the female voice and hesitated before replying, "Yes,...Just a minute..." His deep voice startled him.
"Be a good boy and open the door!", the voice said soothingly.
Tom dried his face, as thoughts flooded his mind. Is this my wife or girlfriend? he wondered. He slowly opened the door, hoping that the woman he would see would at least be attractive.
The door was thrown open by the female and Tom screamed.
