This choice: "That's silly. Of course it worked." • Go Back...Chapter #5"That's silly. Of course it worked." by: Unknown Jennifer watched as Lauren knelt down and picked up Michelle; who was by now crying hysterically. As Lauren attempted to sooth her crying...daughter, Jennifer said, "I get that you wanted a baby, but don't you think this is a bit...drastic?"
"I'll admit I was hesitant to go through with this at first; out of concern for Michael. But," cradling Michelle in her arms, Lauren said, "He wasn't going to give me the family I wanted, so I decided to do something about it."
"There had to be other options besides turning Michael into a 13 month old girl; why didn't you try a sperm donor?"
"Michelle is 9 months old, Jen." Pausing, Lauren said, "All those options cost money; which I do not have at the moment."
Jennifer watched as Lauren placed a still crying Michelle into a baby swing; putting a pacifier in her mouth and turning the swing on. "How are you going to afford the rent on this place with Michael...gone?"
"That's why I called you over." Watching as Michelle stopped crying and dozed off, Lauren said, "I know your lease is up at the end of the month; so I was wondering if you'd like to move in with me?"
"Well I did have plans to move closer to my parents; but staying here would be cheaper." Sighing, Jennifer said, "Besides, if you're really serious about this, I could help out with Michelle on occasion."
"That's great!" chuckling, Lauren said, "It'll be just like when we were in college."
"Yeah; only you've magically created a 9 month old daughter out of your boyfriend."
"That reminds me." Walking over to the remote, Lauren said, "This thing can alter reality to fit the changes; so I should do that before someone questions Michael's disappearance."
Jennifer watched as reality was changed around her; the main living area which had once been filled with Michael's collectable posters and assorted video games had now become decidedly more feminine; with a crib and assorted baby items for
Michelle. "So let me get this straight, as far as anyone else is concerned, Michael's out of the picture and you've always had a daughter?"
"That’s right." Checking herself in the mirror, Lauren said, "I should probably make some alterations to myself; wouldn't be appropriate if I didn't look like I just had a baby."
Again Jennifer was forced to watch as the remote did its thing; making Lauren a little chubbier with larger, milk-laden breasts. Deciding it was best not to agitate Lauren with constant questions, Jennifer said, "So what now?"
"We could relax while Michelle's taking her nap." Smiling, Lauren said, "I'll probably feed her when she wakes up; after I change her diaper of course." indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
