Chapter #2

No good deed goes unshrunken

    by: Unknown
I knew Ashley. Actually, it would be fairer to say that I knew of Ashley. She was pretty enough, or at least what she let anybody see of her. I think she was fourteen, and had been allowed to skip at least one grade, maybe two, somewhere in her past. Whatever. She was in 10th grade now, taking all the advanced placement classes, and the word was she was going to get to skip the 11th grade next year. This meant she was some type of genius, but she really didn't have anyone to hang around with.
She started coming into her own this year, and even at 14 she was pretty hot. She'd probably be a knockout when she turned 18. She always hung around near me because some of the creepier freshman had been hitting on her when she filled out over the summer. You see, I play on the defensive line of our high school. I'm second string, but I'm still not even close to being a little guy. So people tend to listen to me when I make suggestions. Especially creepy little freshman. So Ashley got a really bad case of hero worship where I was concerned. I didn't try to encourage her, but I did always try to be friendly to her.
The last I had seen of Ashley had been about a week before school ended, when everyone had gotten their yearbooks and were exchanging them to have their friends sign them. I had probably signed Ashley's year book with something like "To a great girl and a great friend." Something generic, you know. I could now remember what Ashley wrote: "To my shining knight. Hope you enjoy this summer. I know I will. I think we're both going to have a very special summer!"
I didn't think much about it then, but now I could see those words had been prophetic. The next thing I knew, after the white light, was that I was five inches high and laying on what I could only assume was one of Ashley's silk scarfs. It was soft and smelled of her perfume. I also noticed that wherever I was, Ashley wasn't in her usual attire. She wasn't wearing one of her baggy tops, so I could see that she had a very eye catching figure. Her glasses were gone, revealing sparkling green eyes and a cute face. Her hair was undone and was shiny, long and looked very soft. Even in my tiny position, I could tell Ashley had blossomed last summer more than she was letting on to others at the school.
"Ashley, what---how...what did you do to me?"
Ashley giggled. She never giggled at school. I looked around and could see a giant house way off in the distance. I had to assume we were in the backyard of her house.
"Oh, Chris, don't worry. I would never hurt you. You're the only one of those idiots at school who ever cared about me. But I knew you could never think of me as anything but that little geek girl you saved and kept safe. But when I invented my shrinking ray, I knew it was the best chance I had of showing you that I was woman you could appreciate as a woman. And I can't wait to show you how much of a woman I've become."
Before I could say anything, a voice cried out from the house.
"Ashley, time to come in, sweetheart. Dinner's in a half hour."
"That's Mom. She's OK, but I don't think she'd quite understand about you. Better put you under wraps and take you inside for now, Chris." In one swift motion, Ashley picked me up and put me in her...
