Startled, she fumbled with the food she was snacking on, dropping it to the floor. She could tell already by the voice already that she was about to get a scolding from her boss, Paulina.
While Ellen was definitely on the tall side, Paulina was on the short side, standing 5'1" and weighing 105 lbs, the delikitty morph was over a full foot shorter than the unevolved eevee. However, what Paulina lacked in stature she made for with see force of will. She was very hard, competitive, and somewhat cold business woman. She was generally nice to employees, but anyone who crossed her ended up wishing they hadn't.
"I was...just...um...."
"Don't pull that with me, this is the third time I've caught you sneaking food!"
"I wasn't taking any customer's food." Ellen tried to counter, but Paulina would have none of it. She continued to scold and lecture Ellen about wasting company time and things like that.
While Pauline was doing her best to get up into Ellen's face, and the eevee reacted with folded back ears and shrinking back a bit, much of the lecture went over her head. The final line was what really caught her attention though.
"I've cut you slack with this for a while, but I just can't any more, how many times do you think I've seen you and not said anything, If I catch you one more time you can start looking for another job!" She stormed off, clearly in a mood that would mean bad news for any other employee on duty today.
Ellen compulsively took some more bits of the food that was still sitting next to her. "Crap, what am I gonna do..."
