Captain's Log, April the 17th 2509

Captain Evers

Three weeks have past sice we entered this
sector. Till now there were no signs of
Directive activities. This whole mission
seems to me like a bloody waste of time. It
wouldn't match to the Directive actions to
take the direct way. If they attack, they
surely won't take this route. But job is job
and so I have finally time to end my work on
the hyperspace paralaxies therory for the 9th
and 10th dimension.

Captain Evers, a 35 year old experienced officer of the Spacenauts entered the bridge with a quite boring look in his face. Three weeks! That were 21 days and all what they had found was a tiny pice of a comet. This truely was a waste of recources. No ships in sensor distance, neither enemy nor friendly. No planets, no systems. Not even the smallest quantum singularity. This part of the galaxy was really empty. No use to observe it.

Evers really was a bit angry. The Ionstorm was a ship of the Predatorclass, a heavy destroyer. Maybe the best equiped ship of the whole human fleet. Such a ship shouldn't be missioned for some irrelevant border controlings. And his crew surely was the same mind. He could see it in their faces. They all seemed to be loosing their nerves. It wouldn't take long till real problems would apear.

A he sat down on his chair, the holography infront of him seemed to show still the same picture as it had as he last left the bridge three hours ago, olthough the ship muast have moved over a distance of about 700 million kilometers. It really was frustrating.

"Sir", Lt. Free reported suddenly.
"Go ahead Lieutenant!" Evers didn't even try to hide his frustration as he talked to his officer.
"Sir, I think I have there thomething on the longrange sensor array."
"Exciting", Evers said with a quite boring sound in his voice.
"So what's it? Another three inch comet?"

Commander Landan, the first officer next to him couldn't resist a laughter. Evers ignored him.

"No Sir", Free answered.
"It's a kind of... radiation."
"What kind of radiation?"
"I'm not sure."
"Then get sure!"
"I think it's a tachyon emission."
"Tachyon? A local tachyon spot?"
"Yes Sir."
"How is that possible? Tachyons travel with superlightspeed. They don't stay on one place."
"Theese do."
"Maybe there is something that is responcible for this anomaly."
"Maybe. Where is this tachyon emission Lieutenant?"
"Direction 043.006, distance 190 million kilometers. And Sir, it's on Directive territory."
"So is it?"

Evers had to think. This truely was something strange. After all it could be some new weapon of the Directive. But for nearer investigation they would have to pass the border. And this would be in a conflict to the contracts. A conflict which in the current situation could easily break off the war.
So what should he do?

You have the following choices:

1. Keep the contracts, stay on human territory

2. Investigate the anomaly
