Tara thought, as she sat down, picking up the device in her hands. It looked like a remote of some kind, but Tara had never seen anything like it before. It was grey in color and only had two large buttons on the front of it. It looked so weird.
"Well, finders keepers," she thought, as she put the device in her small purse and relaxed in her seat.
Tara was on her way home, after working the last 10 hours at a small CD/record shop in town. She loved working there, since the manager let her play whatever music she wanted, which Tara took advantage of on a regular basis. She was a big fan of punk, so for most of the time, that's all the 22 year old would play.
She smoothed her Blink-182 shirt over her small belly and looked out the window. Tara had always been kind of a big girl, but she had been lucky, in that she didn't have much belly fat. Sure she had a little, but the majority of her excess weight seemed to always go to her breasts and thighs. Still, that didn't stop people from picking on her over the years.
Tara had always kept silent about the taunting, not speaking up to defend herself, or her weight. To most people, it appeared she didn't have much of a backbone, but in reality, it was that she really didn't care what other people thought of her. Still, that didn't mean Tara didn't think about getting even with a few people. But, what could she do about it, really?
About five minutes later, the bus lurched to a stop on her street and Tara got off. She took out the remote she found on the bus and looked at it again, inspecting it further. She decide to push one of the buttons, just to see what would happen.
A little ways down the street, a younger guy was riding his bike, unaware that his life was about to be changed forever.
Tara pressed one of the buttons and watched as a white beam shot out of the remote and hit the guy. She looked up in time to see both him and his bike seem to vanish in thin air. Her eyes went wide and she ran over to where she last saw him.
Down below, on the ground, Billy Corrigan sat in shock on his bike, as the entire world grew around him. A little ways away, he saw one of his neighbors, Tara, running towards him, her footsteps booming as she got closer, shaking the ground as she ran. One of her footsteps bounced both him and his bike high in the air and Billy lay on the ground, his bicycle by his side.
Tara's footsteps were getting closer. There was no way he could escape in time. Billy cowered on the ground in the fetal position and hoped his giant neighbor didn't accidentally kill him.  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
