waking to strange sounds

You don't get much sleep at all because as soon as you nod off you are snapped awake by sounds in the hall. It sounds like someone is dragging something heavy outside. You hear low voices in the room next door. You lean against the wall and listen. "Get out now or I'll kill you. Do you hear me?" a menacing voice says. The threat is followed by a loud thud and a groan of someone being winded. You see a shadowy figure leap from the window and run down the street. This could be the break you're looking for. Should you follow him.

You have the following choices:

1. go for it. he's your best lead

2. could be dangerous go back to sleep
