Chapter #6

Her girlfriend. Not the way you're thinking.

by: Detective Barricade Author IconMail Icon
Missy decided that the one person she wanted to share this awesome new development with was with her girlfriend Lacy. Girlfriend as in friend who happened to be a girl, that is. They weren't dating. In time, it could change, but for now both girls were into guys more than other girls. Missy thought about her brother, but no one else was home yet to tell anything to. Still, she felt the need to write a note on the kitchen table in case anyone from her family came back. They were visiting, but had gone out shopping and didn't want them worrying - not that she or they would need to ever worry again, thanks to that strange and utterly adorable creature she had met just a couple minutes ago.

"Have gone over to Lacy's for a little bit. Will be back soon. Mikey - DON'T BREAK ANYTHING. I WILL KNOW IF YOU DO, AND YOU WILL BE SORRY.

"Love,

"Missy." She read aloud what she wrote on the Sticky Note. She loved her family, but her 17 year old brother tended to break her things when they were kids and she still didn't trust him to have changed. At least her new powers would let her know if he did, and she had the means to make his life just a little more miserable if he did. She stuck the pink note onto the table, satisfied. "That should do nicely. I'd hate to have to be mean to my little brother, but he'd better not break my things if he hopes to get a date. At least he's been warned."

Missy grabbed her keys and put on her pink and white pair of shoes that she got for her birthday a few weeks ago. While not exactly her favorite colors, she still liked them and was grateful for them. Especially since they were slip on, as shoe laces and her didn't always mix, and enjoyed being able to just slip them on and go. She left her house and locked the door, knowing her family had a key to let themselves in, and went for her walk to Lacy's place. It wasn't that far, only about 10 minutes away, but Missy enjoyed the scenery leading to it.

When Missy arrived at Lacy's place, she wasn't surprised to see another car in the driveway. Lacy was beautiful and intelligent, and had informed the world that she was dating a young man named Jason via Twitter. She was surprised, however, to see that the man she assumed was Jason was such...a total opposite of a hunk. He seemed nice enough, but was about as muscular as a wet noodle, maybe two since she felt generous. "Hi, Jason, right?" she asked, and the response was, "Y-yes, that's me...I'm sorry, but I'm already in a relationship with this girl... I really like her, and she has the most gorgeous-" Missy placed a finger to his mouth to cut him off, smiling, "Blonde hair? I know. I'm Missy. Lacy is my friend. Say..." she noticed that his left eye was a bit bruised, and she knew Lacy would aim much, much lower on a guy she didn't like. Someplace no man ever wanted to be hit in. "What happened to your eye? Did you whack yourself in the eye or something?"

Jason tells her...
