Backs off into the storm, waiting.

Ky watched the two men from her perch in the tree. The one who seemed to be following, suddenly backed away and crouched down. He looked like he was waiting for a chance to hit the other man over the head. Ky shook her head in disgust. Men. Always thinking they could do things better. She brushed her short, ratty brown hair out of her face, and leaped from he tree. She landed lightly on the balls of her bare feet, using the storm as a cover for the crunching leaves. The waiting man was only about 10 feet in front of her. He turned his head slightly, and with a shock, Ky realized he must be Liza's brother. They had the same red hair and dark eyes. She crept silently around him, and trotted toward the back of the house. Staying out of the light and stepping silently, she thanked her Father for teaching her how to be a thief. It had saved her life a number of times. Her reflection in a puddle made her stop and study her face. Her stormy blue eyes flashed in annoyance at her stupidity. Hormones made her act like the 16-year-old she really was. How she wished she could speed past this stage and become smart again. Ky continued toward the back of the lodge, and reached the tiny window that was there. Easing it open, she slipped inside, head first. She ducked into a silent roll and stood up. She was exactly where Liza had told her she would be. In the mop closet. She peeked her head out of the door, and saw a hallway leading both left, and right. A sudden realization made her stop. Did Liza say left... or right? She speculated for a moment, then again opened the door and turned...
