Roughly two months before her sisters and herself graduated, Blossom was in the living room, getting an early start on studying for the final exams. While in a brief moment of boredom, she scanned the house with her X-ray vision. She almost cried out in shock when she looked up at the bathroom.
Bubbles's stomach had somehow inflated. After she watched her sister deflate herself, Blossom was shell-shocked to say the least.

In the time between then and now, Blossom had experimented in trying to inflate herself, but met with little success. She learned her body had the elasticity for inflation, but she couldn't do it herself like Bubbles did that night.
There were two options that Blossom had considered over her inflation: talk to Bubbles or "borrow" some the Professor's equipment. She could've asked Bubbles how she did it, but Blossom respected her sister's privacy over her new found power. Also, the Professor would've noticed that some of his gas tanks were missing.
Blossom figured that while she was out, she could try and improve her inflation skills. And one place was as good as any, so, she thought, she might as well try at every place she planned to go.
