In 2308, invading planets and exploiting it's lifeforms and materials as resources for humans is big business. You are a part of Earth's Continuous Reconnaissance Until Successful Takeover, or Earth's C.R.U.S.T. for short. Your job is to scout out far off planets to see if Earth's global military can afford to invade and take over.
This time, your job is to scout out the resources on Majorus Rex, the biggest planet in a newly discovered solar system. You strap yourself into your small space vessel, disguised to look like an escape pod so advanced lifeforms of Majorus Rex will be less suspicious of your arrival.
"I hope like hell we don't end up in another waterhole." says Riku Typhoon, a guy who's been on the last ten missions with you, all on liquid based planets. He's in the vessel next to you.
"Well this planet is solid on the surface, with a few scattered lakes and rivers. I wouldn't worry about it." You tell him, repeating the data collected from a satellite orbiting the planet.
"That's the same crap they gave us about Ceasarus X. And what do you know? The satellites had gone to hell, and the planet's liquid based with only a ten-mile island of sapphire! If this planet is water based, I quit."
Water planets are notorious for making short work of C.R.U.S.T. members, because the inhabitants of them are usually hostile and less likely to be humanoid. You agree with Typhoon. If this mission is bogus, you are quitting the squadron.
