Isabelle and Daniel had been running around in the several hidden passageways that made up the castle when they wondered into one that lead into the royal meeting room. This room was used mostly for talks of war, taxes, and the like, but today, it seemed it was for talks of myths, legends and treasure seeking. Curious to learn what had the king so intrigued, Isabelle and Daniel hid in the passageway and eavesdropped into the conversation.
"Edward, why are we even having this conversation? It's a myth, an old wives tale, its not real," came the soft voice of the queen.
"But don't you see Jasmine, there's finally proof that it isn't just a myth, that its real and that its everything that it is said to be," the king insisted as the queen let out an exasperated sigh and rolled her eyes.
"Edward, my darling, I know you want to believe this, but this so called proof is probably fake as well. Just some local peasant trying to entertain himself," she continued to try to conince him, but to no avail.
"My love, I know for a fact that it is real, and it's contents can help turn the tides on this war. We will finally have the upperhand over Radigan. Now I know that it is real, and I know it can help us win this war. So can we please stop arguing about it," he concluded refusing to argue anymore.
Just as the queen was opening her mouth to respond the king's advisors entered the room silencing her unspoken arguement. "M'Lord, you wished to see us?"
"Yes, yes, I understand that you have found proof that the legendary Treasure of Malor exists?"
"Yes, M'Lord we have. This is all the information we have on the treasure," an advisor replied handed a packet over to the king.
"This is wonderful," the king thumbed through the packet. "Do you believe that with this information a small group of skilled knights will be able to reach the treasure and bring it back?"
"Of course M'Lord, but only if they are the best, for there are several dangers and tasks that must be overcome to reach it."
"Thank you that will be all," and he dismisssed them with a wave of his hand. They bowed and backed out of the room. "Well, Jasmine what do you think?"
"I don't know what to think. I can't believe that such intellegent men would make a mistake, but I can't believe that the Treasure of Malor exists."
"Well, I do, and in the morning we will send out for our best knights. Once they arrive here we will prepare them to go and bring back the treasure."
And with that the king and queen left the room. Once it was positive that no one was left, Isabelle and Daniel came out of the passageway awestruck.
"Can you believe..." "I know, a treasure..." was all they could say for minutes.
"Oh, wouldn't it be wonderful to go on such an amazing treasure hunt," Isabelle finally replied dreamily.
"Yeah," Daniel came out of his reverie. "That would be great, but only the best knights are going to be able to go. I wish I was a knight, its always been my dream, to become a knight and do knightly stuff like going on this treasure hunt."
Just then Isabelle jumped up as if where she was standing was suddenly on fire. "Why don't we go?"
"Don't be ridiculous. Could you imagine, a stable boy and a princess on a real treasure hunt facing all those dangers? Eveyone would laugh at the thought. And could you imagine what your parents would do if we asked them to go? That would be so funny to see their faces," Daniel laughed.
"Who said they'd have to know?" The seriousness on her face ceased Daniel's laughing.
"You're serious aren't you?"
"Of course I am. We could do it. We're smart, and from watching the knights and training you to be a knight we know how to fight. Not to mention this," she smiled as she picked up the packet with all the information about the treasure. This made Daniel smile as well.
