The throne room smells of demons, so you slip back inside the rock and continue on. It's getting warmer and you hear a dull roar. Aha! You must be near the source of the river of lava.
You burst out of the rock into a seething cauldron of liquid lava. The heat is intense and there is the stench of sulfur. The side of one wall breaks off in a rockslide. When the rocks tumble into the hot bubbling lava they explode into showers of rock fragments.
Across the cauldron on a ledge you see a few of the local demons. They look like short naked people with snouts and tails. Their skin is bright red and smooth as rubber and glistens with highlights from the flames that flicker from every crevice in the rocks. Are the demons dancing or just jumping up and down? Above the bubbling roar of the lava you hear their weird demonic laughter bounce off the sides of the cauldron and echo through the cavern.
Fascinating, but you zip back into the solid rock and continue on your way. The freedom of being unattached to your body is exhilirating. Why not fly out into space and explore? Up, up through the rock until finally you are out in the night air, flying toward the moon. Your speed must be trememndous. The moon swells rapidly before you. Within minutes you hit the moon and penetrate it, bursting out the other side. Whoa! You have to slow down if you want to see anything. You circle back and land gently on the moon. It doesn't take long to see that there is nothing there but cold rock.
Bam! You are off and flying, this time aimed at the sun. It's a longer trip than the moontrip was, and you get a little bored. There is nothing to do out here in space but look at the stars. You play connect-the-dots with the stars and a figure begins to take shape. A human being. You trace the shape with your finger, star to star. It's dumb, but it helps keep the long trip to the sun from being so boring. You are beginning to wonder why you even want to go to the sun anyway. Isn't it just a ball of hot gas?
You look at your connect-the-dots figure in the stars again. Does it have a face now? Did it wink at you?
