"Laura? What are you doing here? I just ate you!"
"You did?" Laura is surprised to hear. She thinks for a moment, and then bends down to your belly. "Are you in there?, twin"
Laura's voice comes out of your guts, "Yeah. He gobbled me." She still sounds annoyed about it.
"But what is going on here?" you demand.
"Well, I guess she just forgot about me." the visible Laura answers. "It's only been about a week."
"There have been two of you for only the past week?" you ask in confusion. "How did that happen?"
"We can only guess." Laura answers with a shrug. "I got eaten and when I got out the next day, there she was."
"I was the one who got eaten." your belly responds. "You are the copy."
Laura looks ready to argue the point, but then turns back to you. "She's a perfect copy. She even remembers everything I do."
"Of course I do. I'm the original." Inside Laura inserts. "You are the copy who didn't remember Billy."
Outside Laura colors. "He didn't really count. And besides, you didn't remember that day as a freshman, or that..."
"OK, OK" you break in before it gets any further. "You're clones. But how did this happen?
"Like I said, we don't know." outside Laura confesses. "I suppose it could be some sort of pregnancy thing. I've had sex often enough, and I have been feeling odd the last few months, but there was no obvious bulge, and with men eating me, I had no idea how I should feel anyway.
"We've been worrying more about what to do." Laura continues. "What will mother say? Will the college throw one of us out? I don't think we can pay two tuitions. It's scary. We've been having one of us hide here, each taking a turn, at least until we figure out what to do.
"But one good thing about you eating her..." Laura smiles, "I can now leave the room and have some fun."
"Not quite." you correct. "I think you should join your 'sister'."
"But you can't!" a disappointed Laura protests. "You already ate her. There can't be room for me too..." Her voice trails off as she realizes that she doesn't know how many girls you can eat.
"There is." you confirm. "I've been walking around and drooling over dozens of girls. Laura here," you pat your belly, "may have filled me up at the time, but I'm really hungry now, and you will be delicious."
"But..."
"Look." you offer. "I promised Laura I would do her homework. Maybe I can do yours as well?"
Laura considers this for a second before "Noo. We have the same homework. That's an advantage of there being two of us. We only have to do half of the work. So you are already doing mine."
"Well, you are going to be calories in any case. So is there anything I can do to thank you for the delicious meal?"
Laura thinks for a moment, then sighs, "Nothing you are likely to have on you, and I suppose you are not going to spring for a new outfit... Didn't think so. Well, how about you just sit down and do that homework while I go have a little fun? And next time, bring along a box of chocolates."
"But won't you try to get away?"
"Where can I run to? I'm trying to hide as it is. I can't yell for help without exposing myself, and that scares me. You are the lesser of two evils here. I don't have much choice but to come back here and be your bedtime snack. You let me have my fun now, and you can have yours later."
"Well..."   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
