"I didn't really scrape my arm in Gym class, Mom." you begin.
"Sure you did! I saw it, remember." your mom says, smiling.
"Just because you saw it doesn't mean that it was there." you remark cryptically.
Your mom sits there with a confused look on her face. She opens her mouth to speak, but before she does you imagine that you are wearing a straw sombrero, blue-tinted sunglasses, and a clown suit. Her eyes bulge, and she stammers "Wha-, wha-, wha-."
"I just found out that I can make people see things that aren't really there. As a matter of fact, you're the one who made me realize. Do you remember that drawing that you saw?"
Your mom slowly nods.
"I never really drew it. I was planning it, drawing a few light pencil lines to use as guides, picturing it in my mind... when you suddenly walked up and complimented me on it. I thought you were just playing around, but then you described the picture perfectly."
Your mom sits, considering what you just said. She looks you in the eyes, clears her throat, and says
