Gloria's perspective
'First I find this wonderful tiny being and then he started communicating with me. At first I just heard little tiny squeaks but then he understood his mistake and started yelling. I could make out his words it was so adorable. He told me from the palm of my hand that he was in my 2nd period class last year and that his name was Kevin Steward. I gasped from this revelation and remembered him being a trouble maker whom I sent to the office on more than one occasion. I also had a theory that he was going to get into a lot more legal trouble when he was older. But at his current stature I think he has bigger concerns than the police (giggles). He told me that he wasn't sure what happened and how he came to be like this. One minute he was taking an exam in Mrs. Boudine's class and the next he was sitting on the floor and at his present height of 1 single inch (I know this because I measured him when he was sleeping that first day). He eventually got around to asking for my help in getting him to a hospital but I just ignored this request and offered to feed him as he must have been famished at that point and was'.
' I know what your thinking right now but I doubt you'd do any different if the shoe was on your foot. Here was a living, breathing, thinking being whom would make the most precious little family mascot. I just knew my daughters were going to love him and be as thrilled with his company as I already was. Let's face it. In 3-4 years he probably would have been in and out of jail, unemployed, and a burden to society. Now he would serve a very useful purpose though in a somewhat diminished manner (Heh heh!). I mean it is so empowering to be able to balance a human on the tip of your finger. I love it when he throws little tantrums you really must view it sometime, it's the sweetest thing you'll ever see. A one inch little man shouting curses up to his omnipotent benefactors whom need only close their fingers in a fist to stifle his outburst from an imprisoned palm. I can just make a displeased expression and this is enough to give poor little Jake (We renamed him but more on that later) pause. I think that my daughters like punishing him too as they're always finding reasons and infractions to make him sorry for his actions. And no one ever really get's angry with him, I mean how can you do anything but just laugh at his silly little antics. I do get upset when the girls are careless with him and he get's hurt which happens more than I'd like to admit. But accidents do happen. (a sigh) I never take kindly to his pathetic little escape attempts which all 3 of us are always on the look out for these days.
"He's very resourceful you know. I remember one time Megan had thought it cute to have him swim in her bowl of onion soup. One of her friends had called her on the phone and she left for a few minutes to converse at the kitchen phone. In a manner of 5 minutes (she swore it wasn't a half hour but I still don't believe her) he had managed to pull a hand cloth over to the edge of the coffee table and drop a second hand cloth upon the floor in order to cushion his fall after climbing down the other hand towel as far as possible. It took us an entire hour to find him and oh how I was upset with him. I took away his eating treats and television privileges for a month over that one. Oh how many humorous stories I could tell you about our little pet. We all do love him so."
"Would you like for me to tell you some more about him?"
