Alan looked up hesitantly. Mark wasn't his real dad, he had married Alan's mom when Alan was 12, and Alan had never been really open with him.

"Well, I always wanted to be caught and owned by a giant..."

"So you shrank yourself here? Who'd you think would catch you?"

Alan looked up at Mark sheepishly.

Mark took a couple of steps forward, looming over Alan. Mark bent down, and without saying anything, slowly wrapped his hand around his stepson's entire body.
