Your head swims at the realization of what is being offered to you . . . to join the fellowship. You look at the members of the fellowship gathered here and think how out of place you will be if you are with them. Not only are they seasoned, famous warriors, but the comraderie and brotherhood they have developed over the years. How are you suppose to fit in? You see your great uncle watching you with some interest.
"You imagine they very special?" he pauses. "They are. The most special that I ahve even known . . . .but they too were once as you. Sam Wise had not journeied 10 miles from his home before this, and Boromir actually tried to take the ring for himself." He smiled "A wise hobbit once said that a journey of 1000 miles starts with the first step. . . .You can begin that journey at any time."
"Uncle" you begin, but stop as you see several members of the fellowship had gathered around. You begin again, but this time addressing the group. "I would be honored if the fellowship would allow me to accompany them and I shall try to bring honor upon them through my actions."
"Bloody elves, and their long speaches", you hear as you see Gimili walk away from the group. He calls back over his shoulder. "You're likin to get us killed, but we're takin ya, so try to keep up." The moment is then broken by a few chuckles as the gathering begin to disburse.
Elrond pats you on the shoulder. "I know you will do well. Look to Legolas and Aragorn if you have questions, . . and don't be offended by Gimili. He has developed quite a soft spot for us elves. I'd even heard he is smitten with Lady Galadriel." Elrond gives you a hug. "Go get your stuff and then see Aragorn. You'll be leaving on the morrow, and it'll be none to pleasent a trip."
