"Well tomorrow you start at 7 am and your official placement is the dough boy," says Joe with a smile.
"Oh," you sigh," Dough boy?"
"You'll be in the back helping me with the dough and cooking," Joe says," You're a friendly kid, and we need that kind of energy in the back."
"Alright," you say," I'll do my best."
"That's what I want to see," smiles Joe," See you tomorrow morning."
With that you walk home after waving good bye to Troy. You arrive home to see Mike sitting on the coach still in his boxers.
Dad comes home and is thrilled that you got the job and kinda jokes that you're flat tummy will get a little more doughy. Your Mom is happy too. The rest of the night has nothing really big happening, except you see a cool movie commercial.
The Next Day
You arrive at work at 7 AM still glossy eyed. Joe hands you an official "Main Street Bakery" white t-shirt and you get changed into it. Joe gets you warmed up and teaches you how to use the big mixers and kneed the dough and teaches you a few tricks to see if it's right. You soon loose trace of time and it's noon and you've made a few dozen doughnuts, cookies, bread and more. Of course you also got to sample them.
You have lunch with Troy again and he relieves that he wants to become a baker. Troy tells you about all the people coming up to the till and you learn that most returning customers have a good sized belly on them. Even the city's finest cops have good sized bellies on them thanks to the bakery. Troy laughs and pats his own belly and says," This place will have that effect on you."
"Hopefully," you smile looking down at your flat stomach.
The rest of the day is a bit slow, and you finish work and write down your time and find out that you have to come in the same time tomorrow to help Troy because Joe has a meeting in the morning. So no late night for you.
