Looming out of the fog like some rotund beast, you saw that it was none other than Barry the cop. He was a family friend, someone you had met a few times before. Barry had always been nice to you, though, you wondered why the heavy police man looking for you. Did something happen? Were you in trouble?
You decided to emerge from your hiding spot and approached him. "Hey there, officer, is there a problem?" you said jokingly, trying to keep the mood light just in case there was indeed a problem.
Barry turned to you in surprise, but then smiled, his big, rosy red moustache curling along with his mouth. "(IYNH)!" he cried, looking relieved. "Thank goodness I found you! Your parents are worried sick about you!"
You were confused. Certainly you couldn't have been gone that long.
"Why are they worried abour me?" you asked. "I've only been gone for an hour."
"Well, it's not that you are late, son," Barry explained, "It's that your older brother is missing."
You were shocked when you heard that. "Missing?" you said, stunned.
"Yeah, and your parents are worried that you might go missing too," Barry said, "So your parents sent me to look for you."
It was good to know that your parents cared about your well-being, but you were far more worried about your older brother Mike.
"What exactly happened to my brother?" you asked.
"I'll tell you on the way back home."
While Barry drove you back to your house, he explained how the police found your brothers red pick-up truck on the side of the road. He looked like he was heading home from college he had been attending, but stopped for some reason.
There appeared to be no trace of him so far, but the police were still looking. You absorbed this information in disturbed silence.
"I'm sorry that this happned to Mike," Barry said as he pulled up to your home, a two storey building in an upperclass neighborhood. "But don't worry, we got the best guys in the county looking for him."
You managed to give him a weak smile and thanked him, getting out of the police car and headed inside the house.
You stood there in the hallway, thinking what you just heard over. Your brother was missing, but what could you do? If you had that fabled Wishing Powder, you could have done something about it, that's if it even worked.
But as you stood there, a noise suddenly pulled you back to reality.
