As the others filed out of the room, Scout and Bella were left alone.

"I'm still shaky about that dream." Bella mumbled, running a hand through her fair hair.

"Do you... need a hug?" Scout offered, opening his arms.

Bella smiled warmly and Scout wrapped his arms around her. She inhaled his smell. It was a strange mix of vanilla and spices. "Thanks, Scout."

"For what?" Her cheek rested on his shoulder and he buried his face in her hair.

"For just being here."

"Bella, I have to tell you something..." He looked into her eyes, glowing warmly. "Something I've been meaning to tell you for awhile."
